Workforce Browser Connector
The Workforce Browser Connector is a companion component for the installed Workforce Windows agent. Its single monitoring purpose is to report the hostname of the currently focused browser tab for authorised workforce activity reporting on company-managed computers.
The connector does not report the full web address, page title or page contents.
Information collected
- The hostname of the currently focused active browser tab.
- The event time recorded by the installed Workforce agent.
- Existing authorised device and employee-assignment context.
Information not collected
- Full URLs, paths, query strings or fragments.
- Page titles, page content or browser history.
- Background-tab activity.
- Typed text, forms or passwords.
- Screenshots, clipboard, webcam, microphone or recordings.
How it works
- The approved browser connector identifies the currently focused tab.
- Only its hostname is passed to the locally registered native-messaging host.
- The installed Workforce agent associates it with the authorised device activity event.
- The authenticated event is submitted to the customer-scoped Workforce workspace.
Managed deployment
The connector is intended for transparent, administrator-authorised deployment on company-managed computers. Chromium-family and Firefox connector source exists, but customer deployment remains subject to the approved installer package, browser policy and release acceptance for the selected browser.
