Workforce Browser Connector Privacy Notice
This notice describes the data handling of the Workforce Browser Connector, a component of Workforce by ModuAxis. It applies to the connector and its communication with the installed Workforce Windows agent.
Purpose
The connector supports authorised employer-managed workforce activity reporting by identifying only the hostname of the currently focused active browser tab.
Data collected
- The active tab hostname, such as github.com or office.com.
- The Workforce agent may associate that hostname with the authorised device, mapped employee and activity-event time.
Data not collected
- Full URLs, URL paths, query strings or fragments.
- Page titles, page contents or browser history.
- Background-tab browsing activity.
- Typed text, search terms, form contents or passwords.
- Screenshots, screen recordings or live screen viewing.
- Clipboard, webcam, microphone or audio data.
How data is transmitted
The browser connector sends the hostname through the browser’s native messaging interface to the locally installed Workforce agent. The authenticated agent may then submit the hostname as part of an authorised activity event to the customer-scoped Workforce environment.
Use and access
Browser hostname information is used to provide Workforce activity, usage and productivity reporting. Access is limited by customer workspace, user role, package entitlement and support controls.
Retention and deletion
Workforce does not publish a fixed retention period in this notice. Retention, deletion and restore terms must be defined in the applicable customer agreement and operating configuration. Automated retention deletion is not represented here as an active self-service feature.
Employees should direct access, correction or deletion requests to their employer or authorised Workforce administrator. Requests requiring service-provider action must be validated through the customer’s authorised contact.
Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for lawful deployment, appropriate employee notice, consent where required, access controls, retention decisions and compliance with applicable employment, privacy and data-protection laws.
Security boundary
The connector uses the browser’s native-messaging mechanism to communicate with the locally installed agent. Agent submissions use authenticated communication and customer-scoped application controls. This statement is not a security certification or compliance guarantee.
Browser store status
Connector availability depends on the approved Workforce release and browser deployment method. A browser-store submission or source package must not be treated as publicly available until its release is verified.
